Reverse In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a scorpion against a background of stars, stylized plant branches, and the sign of the Scorpio zodiac constellation.
Obverse In the upper part, along the rim arc, is the coin's denomination 'TWENTY FIVE RUBLES'. Slightly below on the left are the metal's designation from the periodic table, Au, and its fineness 999. Below, in the center, is the mintage year '2005'. Below, on the right, are the weight of the precious metal in pure form '3.11' and the manufacturer's (mint) mark 'MMD'. In the central part, within a characteristic dotted rim, is a double-headed eagle, and below it is stamped the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
