  • Reverse
    The central part features the lesser coat of arms of the Austrian Empire. It depicts a double-headed eagle with spread wings, its heads crowned, above them the Crown of Saint Stephen. In the eagle's right talon are a sword and scepter, in the left an orb. On its chest is the family heraldic shield of Habsburg-Lorraine, encircled by a chain. Along the edge of the coin is a Latin inscription in an arc: to the right and left 'HVNG∙BOH∙LOMB∙ET VEN∙GAL∙LOD∙ILL∙REX∙A∙A∙1853' (King of Hungary, Bohemia, Lombardy and Venice, Galicia, Lodomeria, Illyria, Archduke of Austria 1853). Below is the numeral 10. The rim is decorated with decorative denticles.

    The center features a right-facing profile of Emperor of the Austrian Empire, King of Bohemia, Franz Joseph I, crowned with a laurel wreath with a ribbon forming a bow. Along the edge of the coin in an arc is a Latin text: left, top, and right 'FRANC∙IOS∙I∙D∙G∙AVSTRIAE IMPERATOR∙' (Franz Joseph I, by the Grace of God, Emperor of Austria). Below is the letter 'A' - the mint mark for the Vienna Mint. The coin's rim features decorative raised denticles.
