Along the upper edge of the coin from left to right is the text "REPUBLIQUE D'HAITI AN92", which translates from French as "Republic of Haiti Year 92". Below, from left to right, is the inscription "835 MILL. 1895. 5 GRAM", which indicates the date of issue and quality of execution: 5 grams of .835 silver. Around the circumference along the rim are decorative elements in the form of dots.
