In the upper part of the field, a two-line inscription in German: 6 KREUZER. In the lower part, the year of issue '1848', below it crossed laurel branch (left) and palm branch (right). At the bottom near the rim, the Latin letter 'A' - the mint mark of Vienna. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.

In the center, a heraldic shield depicting a double-headed eagle with spread wings, heads crowned, holding a sword and scepter in its right talon and an orb in its left. On its chest, the familial heraldic shield of Habsburg-Lorraine. Above the shield, the Crown of Saint Stephen. Along the arc of the coin's edge, an inscription in German to the right, bottom, and left: 'K∙K∙OESTERREICHISCHE SCHEIDEMÜNZE' (Imperial Royal Austrian Subsidiary Coin). The edge of the coin features denticle-like elements.
