Reverse In the central part, within a circle of raised dots, the Chinese characters '香港' and '毫一' are arranged crosswise, repeating the text of the English legend 'HONG-KONG TEN CENTS'. To the right, between the inscriptions, is the mint year '1882'. Along the edge of the coin are decorative elements in the form of dots.
Obverse In the central part of the coin, the left-facing profile of British Queen Alexandrina Victoria is struck. Along the left and right edges is the text 'VICTORIA QUEEN', which translates from English as 'Queen Victoria'. Below is the Latin letter 'H' - the mint mark for the Birmingham Mint. Decorative raised dots are placed along the rim.
