    In the central part - the inscription: «GROSZY». Above the inscription - the denomination numeral 5. Below the inscription is a decorative divider in the form of two curved lines with a small dot between them. Below the divider is the issue date «1836». Along the edge of the coin is a wreath of laurel and oak branches, tied at the bottom with a ribbon in a bow.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire - a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two crowns, a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the Moscow coat of arms - a shield depicting St. George the Victorious slaying a dragon with a spear. Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. On the wings are depicted the titular coats of arms: on the right — Kazan, Astrakhan and Siberian; on the left — Polish, Taurian and Finnish. In the eagle's right talon is a scepter, in the left an orb. Below the right talon is the letter «M», below the left the letter «W». The mintmark of the Warsaw Mint.
