    From left to right along the edge of the coin is the inscription 'VICTORY OVER FASCIST GERMANY', in the center is the monument to the Warrior-Liberator by sculptor E.V. Vuchetich, erected in Berlin. To the left of the monument is the Roman numeral 'XX', to the right the word 'YEARS'.

    In the upper part of the coin is the State Emblem of the USSR, encircled by a ribbon (15 turns), below on the left the letters 'SS', on the right 'SR', between them a line with a horizontally placed diamond in the middle, further below the word 'ONE' and at the bottom along the rim the word 'RUBLE'. Along the rim (edge) of the coin is a dotted border.
