Obverse
In the center, the coat of arms of the Austrian Empire: a double-headed eagle with spread wings, its heads crowned, above them the Crown of Saint Stephen. In its right talon, a sword and scepter; in its left, an orb. On its chest, the familial heraldic shield of Habsburg-Lorraine, encircled by a chain. Along the upper rim, an inscription in German: 'K∙K∙OESTERREICHISCHE SCHEIDEMÜNZE∙' (Royal Imperial Austrian Subsidiary Coin). The edge of the coin features patterns resembling a rope and dots.
