Reverse
The central part features a circle executed in raised dots. Inside is a four-line inscription: "TUNISIE 1 FRANC 1917", which translates from French as "Tunisia 1 franc 1917". The numbers "1917" indicate the year of issue. Below the date is the letter "A" - the mint mark. To the left of the letter is the "Cornucopia" symbol - the mark of the Paris Mint, and to the right is a "Torch" - the privy mark of the mint engraver Henry Patey. Along the edge of the coin, around the entire circumference, is an intricate line executed as a figured ornament. Above the line, equally spaced, are six stars. The coin's rim features decorative elements in the form of denticles.
Obverse
The central part features a six-line inscription executed in Arabic. The Hijri year of issue "١٣٣٥" is shown in Arabic numerals, corresponding to "1917" in the Gregorian calendar. Along the rim, on the left, is a palm branch, and on the right, an olive branch. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
