Along the edge of the coin, from left to right, runs the Latin inscription: 'GEORGIVS V D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP', which translates to: 'GEORGE V, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, KING OF ALL THE BRITONS, DEFENDER OF THE FAITH, EMPEROR OF INDIA'. The coin's rim features decorative raised denticles.
