On either side of the statuette is the country name in English - 'SOUTHERN RHODESIA', below - one shilling - 'ONE SHILLING'. Below the stylized bird image are the medallist's initials: 'K∙G' - George Edward Kruger-Gray. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

Along the rim, split into two parts, is text in English: on the left - 'GEORGE V KING', on the right - 'EMPEROR', which translates to 'GEORGE V KING EMPEROR'. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
