Reverse
The central part features the lesser coat of arms of the Austrian Empire: a double-headed eagle with spread wings, its heads crowned, above them the Crown of Saint Stephen. In its right talon, the eagle holds a sword and scepter, in its left, an orb. On its chest is the familial heraldic shield of Habsburg-Lorraine, encircled by a chain, with the empire's highest orders below the shield. Along the edge of the coin is a Latin inscription on the right and left: 'HVN∙BOH∙LOMB∙ET VEN∙GAL∙LOD∙IL∙REX∙A∙A∙1829∙' (King of Hungary, Bohemia, Lombardy and Venice, Galicia, Lodomeria, Illyria, Archduke of Austria 1829). The rim is decorated with decorative dentils.
Obverse
Centered is the right-facing profile of Emperor of the Austrian Empire, King of Hungary and Bohemia, Francis II, wearing a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon. Along the edge of the coin, from left to right, runs the Latin text 'FRANCISCVS I∙D∙G∙AVSTRIAE IMPERATOR∙' (Francis I, by the Grace of God, Emperor of Austria). In the lower part is the letter 'A' – the mint mark for the Vienna Mint. The rim features decorative raised dentils.
