In the central part is the coat of arms of Afghanistan - a mosque with a mihrab and minbar inside a pulpit. Along the arc of the left and right edge of the coin are wheat ears, which intersect at the bottom and are tied with a bow.
Obverse
In the upper part, along the arc of the coin's edge, text in Pashto: " ۱/۲ ۲ افغان" - "AFGHANI 2 1/2". In the central part is the tughra of Amanullah Khan. Below it is the number: "1304" - the Hijri year when the Kingdom of Afghanistan was formed, corresponding to 1925 in the Gregorian calendar. In the lower part, along the arc of the coin's edge, are depicted wheat ears.
