    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of crossed battle axes, which divide the mint year "1939" into two parts. On either side of the axes is the country name in English - "SOUTHERN RHODESIA", below - six pence in two lines - "6 PENCE". Between the axe heads are the medallist's initials: "KG" - George Edward Kruger-Gray. The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of dentils.
  • Obverse
    In the central part of the coin is struck the left-facing profile of King George VI of Great Britain. Around the circumference is the English text "GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR", which translates to "GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR". Below the monarch's truncation are the initials of the British medallist: "PM" - Percy Metcalfe. Along the rim are decorative raised dentils.
