In the central part, a fragment of Tutankhamun's golden throne: the coin reproduces the scene depicted on the throne's back panel, where the young Tutankhamun sits on the throne before his queen Ankhesenamun. The queen anoints his shoulders with aromatic oil under the life-giving rays of the Sun God Aten. At the top, the hieroglyph meaning 'Eye of Horus' (an Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power, and good health); hieroglyphs below mean 'Tutankhamun'. At the bottom, the year of minting: '2012', framed by an ornamental border. At the top, inscriptions in French and English - 'Wonders of Egypt • Miracles d'Egypte'. Around the edge of the coin are decorative elements in the form of dentils.
  • Obverse
In the central part, the coat of arms of the Republic of Benin. Below it, a two-line inscription in French - '1000 FRANCS CFA'. In the upper part, along the arc of the coin's edge, the country name in French - 'REPUBLIQUE DU BENIN'.
