Reverse

In the central part of the reverse are relief images of three coins: at the top – a silver ruble of Nicholas I, on the left – a gold imperial of Nicholas II, on the right – a gold chervonets of Soviet mintage. Around the circumference is the text: HISTORY OF MONETARY CIRCULATION IN RUSSIA.

Obverse

In the upper part, along the rim arc, is the coin's denomination 'ONE HUNDRED RUBLES'. Slightly below on the left is the metal's designation from Mendeleev's periodic table, Au, and the fineness 900. Below, in the center, is the mintage year '2009'. Below on the right are the weight of the pure precious metal '15.55' and the manufacturer's (mint) mark 'SPMD'. In the central part of a characteristic dotted circle is a double-headed eagle, and below it is stamped the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
