Reverse
Offset to the left and upwards, the central element of the coin is the denomination: 5 RUBLES. In the left and lower-right parts of the coin are scrolls of a flowering plant.
Obverse
At the top along the rim (edge) is the inscription 'FIVE RUBLES'. In the center of the coin is a double-headed eagle and below it, arranged in a semicircle, the words 'BANK OF RUSSIA'. Under the eagle's left foot is the mint mark 'MMD'. At the bottom near the edge is the year of mintage '2001', above the year are two pointed, oppositely directed lines with a dot between them.
